2013 Financial Permaculture & Local Business Summit a complete success...
We can declare the 2013 Financial Permaculture & Local Business Summit a complete success on many levels!
Over 50 people from around North america, even folks from Haiti and Honduras gathered for a week in Homestead to design four community food businesses: a commercial Permaculture farm, a commercial kitchen, a farm-to-table cafe, and a food distribution hub.
The first two days, we heard from 5 powerful keynote speakers: Emily Kawano, Jude Hobbs, David Rose, Jonathan Cloud, and Eric Toensmeier.
The next almost 3 days were spent in break-out groups intensively designing the above mentioned businesses.
The last afternoon was open to community audiences, over 1oo of which gathered to watch team presentations of the designs.
